Will Jawando joins us to present his new book My Seven Black Fathers: A Young Activist's Memoir of Race, Family, and the Mentors Who Made Him Whole, in conversation with New Yorker staff writer Jelani Cobb. This virtual event will take place on Zoom.

This program is co-hosted in partnership with Raven Bookstore in St. Louis, MO, Books & Books in Coral Gables, FL, and Community Bookstore in Brooklyn, NY.

This event is free to attend, you purchase a signed book from our bookstore at this link.

The book will be shipped on or after the release date of May 3rd.

We are happy to celebrate Women's History this month with families celebrating with this picture book that give perspective to Lizzie's plight and eventual freedom. To have Mrs. Scolfield-Morrison back with us is a treat and we are big fans of Elizabeth Zunon illustrations for Nikki Grimes . We are grateful to the Detroit Public Library for their introducing us to the both Connie and Frank Morrison. The event book and previously illustrated book by Elizabeth Zunon are available in store or online at
